Visite citadelle Vauban Besançon le 03 février 2014. Contest: create a travel book.

Mathilde 4ème5

Luckily, it was sunny. The weather was wonderful. It was quiet and I happened to hear birds. The Citadel was very high and the view once we reached the top was amazing. I liked the concept of having many animal species within the Citadel. The well is such an impressive part too because it is very deep and it was for sure very hard to dig it.

Eriola 4ème2

I liked the Citadel but I'm still wondering why we can see animals there. It was very beautiful and many elements were representative of the military power. The weather was so nice and it wasn't too cold, we were then able to observe things properly. It was a real discovery for me as I had never been there before. I hope everyone got the same feeling because for my part, I really liked the place.

Lucas 4ème2

The Citadel of Besançon is a fortified town overhanging the city of Besançon.It is a Unesco classified site. Vauban was the man who designed the citadel. I really liked it. The visit was so enriching, we saw different things and the view was stunning.

Yohan 4ème2

I found the citadel very impressive, especially the battlements. The fortifications are beautiful and so great! The climb to reach the Citadel was very exhausting. Otherwise, I loved visiting the citadel and I would like to go back one day, mainly to visit the various museums which are there.

Chloé P 4ème2

The Citadel of Besançon was very impressive. Its architecture was both interesting and beautiful. It is an old monument and yet it is well preserved. Many "artisans" work within the Citadel. The fronts are very high and I really enjoyed the visit. Besides, we were very lucky as the weather was very nice.

Germain 4ème2

I liked this visit because I was able to see nice monuments and I have learned many things which happened during the war. I don't think everything could have been built during the war. The Citadel had an impressive defense system. We have been walking much during that day to go roud the citadel. What nice moments!

Léa 4ème2

On Monday February 3rd 2014, we visited the citadel of Besançon, this visit was part of the Comenius project. This citadel is a very large place. I walked a lot during that day to see the citadel. It is like a small town. It is a very quiet and peaceful place. During the visit we discovered the fortifications designed by Vauban and the general architecture of this beautiful place which has to be preserved.

Chan 4ème2

We have been visiting the Citadel of Besançon which is classified as a Unesco site. When we arrived, we had to climb stairs to reach the fortifications. We took part in a guided tour, comments were delivered by a professional historian. She told us about the story of the fortifications. The view of the battlements was really awesome.

Iris 4ème2

The citadel of Besançon is a large place near the Doubs, it was built by Vauban for King Louis the 14th. It is located on the top of a hill and we have to climb many stairs before arriving.

I found the Citadel very nice and so impressive!

The guide's explanations were sometimes too precise but the visit was really interesting. I enjoyed this travel, it was pleasant. The weather was nice and we even saw a variety of animal species.

On Monday February 3rd 2014, we went to Besançon in order to visit the citadel.

I really liked that day which enabled me to discover the citadel and to know more about its story.

The guide explained things very well. We were then able to know the building dates, how to locate the various parts of the monument and what was the purpose of each part. We learned a lot of things.

Then, we went on the battlements, we had a stunning view of the whole city and the Doubs (river). It was very beautiful. This travel was very interesting. I really enjoyed discovering a place that I didn't know.

On Monday the third, we took the bus and visited a Unesco World heritage site: the citadel of Besançon.

It had been designed by Vauban, the best architect of King Louis the XIVth. It was in Franche-Comté, near the river named the doubs. It has three main fronts: the Saint Etienne's front, the King's front and the Rescue's front.

The citadel has been restored and we can now see a natural history museum. When we walked up to the fronts, we met animals like free monkeys.

Eliott 4ème2

With our Secondary School, we visited the citadel of Besançon. It is listed as a Unesco Classified site. It is a big fortress with a lot of fronts. We can walk on top the walls and see surroundings, it is amazing!

The King's architect, Vauban, built this citadel for Louis XIVth and his army. Now there are animals, we walked a lot and we saw monkeys on the battlements. It was funny to observe them. It was an interesting visit and I liked it.

Merci à nos élèves pour leur sérieux lors de cette journée découverte.

Merci à la conférencière qui a éclairé notre lanterne.

Merci aux collègues du collège à Longvic qui participent au jeu concours.
